EC VOICE Newsletter - Guilford Cty's Resources For Exceptional Children - EC School Advocates
EC (Exceptional Children) Advocates
Exceptional Children (EC) advocacy is a vital part of the Guilford County Council of PTA's mission to support equitable, quality education for every child. Our goal: 1)to have an EC advocate at every school who can answer questions, suggest resources, and communicate information; and 2) to encourage EC students and their families to participate and become involved in school and PTA events.
Some of our advocates help to sponsor support groups, activities, and information which increase awareness and understanding of students with disabilities. Please feel free to contact the advocate at your student's school for more information on EC advocacy and to keep up to date with our newsletter, The EC Voice. Our newsletter is sponsored by the GC PTAs for families of EC children and is published six times during the school year. If you, or someone you know, would like more information on becoming an EC advocated at your school, please contact Carla Sutton - EC Advocacy at suttonc@bellsouth.net or 676-4403, Rebecca Rice - EC Training rrice13@triad.rr.com or 379-0361; or Erica Kuepferle - EC Communications at angelsx2@triad.rr.com or 638-2107.
